Formpress supplies a wide range of products, including serving trays, serving boards, trivet, coasters and tray tables. All our wooden products are handmade, one by one. The core material is birch veneer, which is a beautiful and natural alternative that can withstand tough conditions. Our products are made of different layers that have been pressed together under intense pressure, all to make the material as durable and strong as possible.
We manufacture products for companies and designers active in Design, Hotel, Restaurant & Cafés and Profiling. From our factory in Färjestaden on the island of Öland in South-East Sweden, we deliver products to customers all over the world. Our skilled staff can handle everything from one-off samples to large batches, and our commitment to delivering high-quality goods has earned us commissions from some of the biggest brands in the world.

Making a tray is a handicraft
In each tray that we manufacture in our factory, there are between five and eight layers of birch veneer. Between each layer of veneer is a sheet of glue. Once patterns and a protective surface on the front and back have been added, it’s time to staple the small insignificant bundle together. This is done by putting it into a press and, with pressure and high heat, turning the package into a tray. After pressing, processing is required to give the tray its finished shape. The edges are milled to be smooth, fine, and rounded. Our skilled employees manufacture each tray by hand, one by one. A genuine handicraft that takes time to master.
